Educating for Life Our Mission Statement
St. Brigid’s School is a co-educational school which strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the individual intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed. While St. Brigid’s School is a school with a Catholic ethos, it also has due recognition for all other religions. St. Brigid’s School will strive to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional development of all staff through staff development programmes. St. Brigid’s School will encourage the involvement of parents through home/school contacts and through their involvement in the St. Brigid’s School Parents Association. St. Brigid’s will endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to imbue in the pupils respect for people and property and to encourage in them the idea of being responsible. St. Brigid’s School will promote gender equity amongst the teachers and pupils. St. Brigid’s School’s motto is ‘Educating for Life’.
Welcome to our school website. St Brigid's School facilitates children with mild learning difficulties from the age of four to eighteen.
Our Ethos St Brigid's is a Catholic school operating under the Patronage of the Archdiocese of Armagh. Children of all faiths, and none, are welcomed and accommodated throughout the school.
Our School At the moment our school has 95 pupils. With our small classes sizes and friendly staff, we pride ourselves on our warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy for new students to make friends.
In Primary School, we study the New Primary Curriculum. Then when we move on to the Senior School, we work hard towards our Junior Certificate and QQI qualifications. When we are in the older classes, we engage in the WALK Peer programme which assists in gaining experience for work and further study when we finish school.
Digital Schools of Distinction Award We are so proud to be one of two schools in Louth to have been awarded the Digital Schools of Distinction Award. The award recognises excellence in integrating ICT into learning and teaching.
