Dundalk FM recorded a show in St Brigid's School today. They asked the students in Dalkey about their Mini-Company Fair on December 7th in the Long Walk Shopping Centre. Tune in on Monday morning at 9.45am to hear all the details!
Some kind parents hosted a Spooktacular Fun Day in Ardee Parish Centre for Halloween, and all the money they raised went to St Brigid's School. Here we are with the deputy principal Ms O'Hanlon, gratefully receiving the cheque. Thank you so much to all involved!
Our Annual Art Exhibition opened in the Basement Gallery last night, and it was a resounding success! Staff, students, parents and art lovers alike attended in their droves, and we listened to speeches from An Tain's director Paul Hayes, our principal Patricia Ward, and the artist Rosemary Warren who officially opened the show for us. They commended us on our hard work and on a very colourful, energetic and beautiful show. Ms Gallagher made a wonderful buffet of refreshments which we enjoyed. Local artists Rosemary Warren, Sarah McKenna and our secretary Aoife Ward kindly donated artworks which we raffled off to make money for the school.
Thank you so much to Ms Kelly who put so much of her time and energy into organising and curating this exhibition, to Ms Swords who helped us to make wonderful artworks, and to everyone who helped the show come together in any way. We are very proud of what we achieved by showing our work.
Our own artworks are on sale at the exhibition, as well as a series of linocut prints of St Brigid's crosses by artist Elaine Kelly. All pieces are 10 euro, and all proceeds go to St Brigid's School. The exhibition is open from 10 - 4 each day of this week. To buy a piece or donate, please contact the school on 042 9335238.
St Brigid's Annual Art Exhibition will take place in the Basement Gallery of An Tain from 7th to 11th November. This event is an opportunity to view the creative skills of the pupils of St Brigid's. Individual and group projects will be displayed. Every student and all staff have participated in preparing this project.
We look forward to seeing you there during the week.
On Friday 27th October, we dressed up for the afternoon Halloween Quiz! The overall winners of the quiz were Blasket, congratulations to you all. We had a great day of fun and spookiness before our mid-term began.
