Class 4 had great fun making rhubarb crumble!
The rhubarb was grown in Horticulture by the senior students. We chopped the rhubarb, sprinkled in sugar, squeezed an orange for its juice, added water and then brought the saucepan to Home Economics and stewed the rhubarb. Later we measured flour, added porridge oats, a little more sugar and rubbed in butter with our hands – it was great fun. We sprinkled the crumble on top of the rhubarb and baked in the Home Economics room. Finally we got to eat it. It was delicious. Comments are closed.
