Students worked very had preparing for Mother's Day. First we joined wooden pieces together to make baskets. We painted our baskets in bright colours and decorated them with stickers of flowers to add a bit of sparkle. For Home Economics we went to Dunnes and bought buns. Back in school we prepared chocolate by melting over hot water and icing by mixing food colouring and water. We dipped the plain buns and added sprinkles. We also made cards and posted them home. We hope all the mothers had a lovely day.

As part of world book day, Blasket travelled to Armagh to the ‘Market Place’ theatre to take part in a storytelling session by Irish storyteller Joe Brennan.
We joined in some warm up exercises and then enjoyed over an hour listening to Joe tell many stories and holding a question and answer session. Before we got the bus back to school we sat together and enjoyed our packed lunches. We arrived back in school in time for the wonderful assembly celebrating world book day, where students read from their favourite books. Mrs Mc Ateer entertained us with a fabulous reading of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. Each student went home with a ‘free’ book to enjoy. |
